Further Incredible Success for Al Sharbatly and his Champion Horses

Abdullah Al Sharbatly’s impressive form continued, during his second week in Poland, at the CSI3* Choczewo as he won an incredible four out of the seven classes he entered.

Al Sharbatly had a good start to the weekend coming second in Friday’s Gold Class 2 1m40 on La Toya 44 posting a speedy jump-off time of 24.30 seconds, to finish only 0.09 seconds behind first place. However, he was not to be beaten in the Gold Class 3 1m45, with a winning clear jump-off round time of 22.85 seconds, on his 13-year-old mare Andrea.

On Saturday the crowds were treated to an even more astonishing display as Al Sharbatly comfortably won the Gold Class 2 1m40 and Gold Class 3 1m 50, with an against the clock time of 58.06 seconds and a jump-off time of 36.82 seconds respectively, with both Coriander Van’t Vennehof and Callahan each claiming a win. This was Coriander Van’t Vennehof’s second win in as many weeks since making his international debut, at Choczewo CSI2* last weekend.

Sunday gave Al Sharbatly and Callahan the opportunity to claim a final victory in the Gold Class 3 1m 50, producing a clear round with a rapid jump-off time of 44.45 seconds in the final round of the weekend. Al Sharbatly and Callahan have formed a formidable partnership since they first started competing together in May, earlier this year.

“Winning and coming second in five different classes with four different horses, in one weekend, is an incredible feeling” an elated Al Sharbatly exclaimed. “The positive relationships between myself and my horses has built a strong foundation to succeed in every competition we enter.”

Kamal Bahamdan was also competing this weekend at the CSI5* Global Champions Tour in London with Cezanne. They were not placed in the event, but it was an important exercise for Cezanne, being his first competition back from injury.
